What do you call a spontaneous gathering organized through Twitter? A TweetUp.
Twitterers use TweetUps as a way to get together with colleagues or like-minded individuals to discuss ideas from the conference, trade-show, etc. over a cup of coffee, dinner or even around the fire-ring at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay.
How do you organize one? The next time you are out of town, just update your followers and ask if anyone is interested in a TweetUp – before you know it, you’ll be reserving a table for 12 instead of 1.
To give you a peek at TweetUp activity, we changed the term in our Twitter Search Feed to Tweetup.
An interesting side-note, we couldn’t find a Wikipedia entry for TweetUp.
